IME (Input Method Editor) composition
What's Happening When typing Korean (or other CJK languages), the browser uses an IME to compose characters. During composition: The IME is in an "composing" state (e.g., building "녕" from ㄴ → ㄴㅕ → ㄴㅕㅇ) When you press Escape, two things can happen: The browser fires a keydown event for Escape The IME also commits/cancels its current composition, which can fire additional input events
